Trees covered in snow
A brief dusting overnight
Children filled with glee

Finally got some snow last night. Not much compared to what others get throughout the northern areas of the U.S., but for my kids it was more than enough to build a snow man and to to get me outside before I started my morning coffee, which I took with me, no way I am leaving it behind. But there is something kind of poetic about standing in the cold, drinking coffee, looking at a snowy landscape. I don’t think we got more than an inch, and it is a wet inch of snow, but in N.C. we will take it. Doesn’t snow much around here and I am fine with that. It makes days like today even more special. Quick question: are you a snow lover or not? Cheers.

I grew up in AK. I’m over the playing-in-snow bit, but I do like to see a pretty snowfall from inside a warm house. I can’t believe you all got snow in NC!
We did. Surprised me too. I have always wanted to go to AK. I would love to visit Barrow or anywhere in that state. Where did you grow up in AK?
In the Chugach hills (mountains, really) just outside of Anchorage. Barrow has a new name. It’s Utqiaġvik. (No, I can’t pronounce it either.)
I noticed that. Didn’t know they changed it. Anchorage looks like a nice place. Would love to see it someday. Always thought it would be cool to go to Utqiagvik and travel from there to Key West. Northernmost to Southernmost.
A beautiful haiku
Thanks. Hope you have a great day.
