Typical Monday
Robbed these two from myself. Not a lot of time to write something for mom this year, but I didn’t want to let the day go by without giving all moms a nod. I’m a stay at home dad and I see first hand how awesome moms are. They are true rock stars. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there.

Love, safety, comfort
In the caring arms of mom
All you ever need

How to describe a mom,
well,
it may be too hard to do,
without leaving out,
too many things,
that are true.
For a mom is a blessing,
a true gift from God,
her patience and virtue,
is something,
you could never prod?
Young children playing
Fueled with imagination
Playroom filled with smiles
Bright eyes, happy feet
Children racing from their beds
Filled with lots of joy

This song has been in my head all morning because of this prompt.
Simple easy smiles
Golden like the morning sun
Warming up my heart
Wake up call today
Baby girl making noises
Cooing soft and sweet
Early wake up call
Baby almost getting there
Sleeping through the night
+
Stout cup of coffee
Yawns starting to multiply
Sleep deprivation
A lonely playground
Ringing in the winter air
Echos of summer
+
Cold day at the park
Swings, slides, sand, and equipment
Waiting for the kids
+
Around the big clock
Morning and night become one
It’s just like Vegas
Small little footsteps
Loudly they ring in the hall
Toddler at light speed

SELLING SIDEBAR
I know this has nothing to do with the post, but I just released “Joyride” back onto Kindle. I thought some of you out there might like to read it – especially any dads (or moms) reading this post.
(Revised and Updated: 2015) A Joyride in a Chevy Chevelle. The car was just sitting there for the taking. What could possibly go wrong? Vinnie and Mike are about to find out what can and will go wrong once they turn the key. Evil awaits. Ride shotgun if you dare with this short story.

Sleeping through the night
Son in his big boy bed
First time, all night long
+
My son has just moved over to his big boy bed. One day the crib, next his big boy bed. Growing so fast. I thought I would share this news, because I am so proud of him. I don’t know if you have seen this blog or not, but I have started talking about being not only a parent, but a stay at home dad. You can check out that blog here: daddystayhome.wordpress.com
How did you parents reading this handle your child’s sleep transition? Just curious.
3rd Post in my Stay Home Dad Blog. Today’s word is Transition. So much of it happens when a child is so young.
2nd Post on my Stay at Home Dad Blog. Thought I would post it late for any parents who just zone out when the kids go to bed.
