Train whistle blasting
Across the tranquil morning
Echoing loudly
Poetry and Occasional Randomness
Train whistle blasting
Across the tranquil morning
Echoing loudly
Train rumbling loudly
Splashing through puddles of rain
Plowing through the storm
⛈
Steel wheels click and clack
Train rumbling in the distance
Pushing through the fog
Train through the mountains
Heading past tall evergreens
Crossing tall bridges
Loud train horn blowing
Across the solid steel tracks
Wheels rolling forward

There is just something about a train whistle. It reminds me of my childhood and staying the night at my grandparent’s house. She lived over in the coal area of the Appalachian Mountains and those coal trains used to rattle by a lot back then. Good memories. So, what do you think when you hear a train whistle?
Steam engine churning
Big train moving down the track
Clickity clack click

Haunted by our past
Trains once rolled into these camps
Few came out alive
