The song Apocalypso by Jimmy Buffett inspired this Haiku. I heard it on my walk this morning and immediately a Haiku sprang to mind. Inspiration is found in the strangest places. Have a great weekend.
Green tropical plant
Swaying in the ocean breeze
Nestled in the sand

This is another one of mine that kind of got lost in the shuffle earlier this month. I liked the sound of it so I thought I would give it another shot at stardom this Christmas season.

Boat on the ocean
Silver bells tied to the mast
Jingling with the waves

I wrote this Haiku earlier this month and for some reason it got lost in the shuffle of the day. I thought I would re-post it because I really liked this one. I wanted to give it a second chance this holiday season.

A warm silent night
Ocean breeze stirs the stockings
Hung with gentle care

A zombie mixed drink
Taste of the tropical world

Just had this song in my head while drinking this drink.
I had to post it.
Watching the shoreline
Wave after wave crushing stress
Washing it away
Cascading gently
Soft tropical waterfall
Warm and inviting

Funny how we are inspired to write. I came up with warm tropical waterfall while washing my sons hands before he had breakfast. I thought, that would be a great line in a Haiku. So, I sat down and wrote this one out this morning. Hope you enjoy it.

Sitting with my toes
Firmly planted in the sand
Underneath a loud flapping palm tree

I was watching an Island Hunter’s show on HGTV and they went to Fiji. Such a beautiful place that it inspired this Haiku. I’ve never been, but if you have I would love to hear your thoughts on what it was like to visit there.

This Haiku was inspired by this post: Sherry Fundin.
Check out her site for awesome book reviews and occasional side bars.
She has been a big supporter of mine. Thanks Sherry for all you’ve done for me.
Here’s the Haiku:
A boat on the water
Sails full, filled with warm salt air
Sea breeze in my face
Spitting snow today
Ocean dreams washing through me
Filled with warm salt air
+
Hot bright holiday
White sand instead of cold snow
Palm trees sway and dance

It’s cold out there folks – hang in there Buffalo and the surrounding areas. How about a tropical picture that I found on the web to warm us all up?
